This is the sixth part of the feedback regarding all 14 Sun Belt teams in 2025. These were anonymous thoughts from random fans of the Sun Belt, so you get a good mix of opinions.

What are your thoughts on Georgia State Football going into the 2025 season?

• Wasn’t sure if Dell McGee was a good hire or not and still don’t know. Don’t have much expectations, so a bowl game would be a huge success, but I’m not betting on it. Think they’re in the Eastern cellar.
• This season has to be better than last. The talent level is way too high. Only question is the coaching. I’m not saying they aren’t good coaches, but they need to prove it.

• I get the sense that the Panthers are going to make some noise in several games, but until proven otherwise, I just don’t they are up the the East’s standards I terms of competitiveness.  But if they can shake down ODU, Marshall, and Coastal, who knows.  They seem to always upset someone hey shouldn’t, so 4-2 in the division is possible
• They beat people they shouldn’t

• I’m not sure what to expect of them this year.  They went 1-7 in SBC play last year, but they also beat a Vanderbilt team that had wins over Virginia Tech, Alabama, Auburn, and Kentucky with narrow losses to #7 Missouri, #5 Texas, and LSU.  Their recruiting picked up, but I think we are another year away from them breaking out.
• Will struggle.  Don’t even want to guess. 
• We owe them one from last year’s implosion

• Dell McGee was a great hire for GSU.  Last year’s 3-9 was actually impressive considering what he was handed on day one.  I look for GSU to take a big step forward this season but the win total may not show it.  Veilleux will be the key on offense.  He will need to limit turn overs and try to keep his defense off the field.  Look for GSU to pound the rock with a pair of 4-star portal transfers but will it be enough?  The defense is the big question mark to me with lots of new faces in the secondary.

• Great recruiting class, but they won’t see the fruits of that for at least another season (if they can hold onto them). Likely looking at another losing season.

• Tons and tons of pure talent.  But is the coaching there?  Idk… on paper they should be good, but my heart is telling me they’ll struggle again.
