As determined by random dot org, the twelfth team is the Thundering Herd of Marshall.

What are your thoughts on Marshall Football going into the 2025 season?

• Rebuilding
• King of the mountain until someone knocks us off.
• New Coach, lot of new players.  Chemistry will be the biggest question.  I’m guessing will finish bottom half of the conference. 
• No idea since it’s basically a whole new program.
• Bottom 1/3 of the East.
• Will give JMU a close run for the East.
• I’ve never been the biggest Huff fan, but man did they screw that up. Hopefully they got their wish and found what they were looking for, but wow. Risky. Think this is a step back year, but like App State, hopefully he gives them a reason to be optimistic about the future.
• A winning season is unlikely but I could see them being competitive in year one of the new regime.
• They will win more than they will lose.
• Will be interesting
• 3-9
• It’s going to be a rough year, but they worked the portal very well and the staff seems top notch.  If things gel, after week 1, of course (Georgia is a terrible way to start a new era in Huntington) they may get going.  If they can manage  6-6 win, I’d consider that a majorly winning start for the Herd
• I think they will be better than expected (5.5 is the line) getting over that is +140 I say 6 wins

• Time will tell but should win another title.
• Loss of coach is tough
• Tough rebuild after Huff took the whole team with him.
• We will surprise. Defense will be stout.
• 5-7 would be a decent season
• I believe Marshall will go from SBC Champs to finishing somewhere between 11-14 in the standings. Sorry Herd fans.

• Complete reset for them in 2025. I like Tony Gibson a lot, but it’s going to be a growing pains year for them.
• Rebuilding. we will have a good idea of their trajectory at end of year.

• Who even knows what to think?  With so many new players and a new coaching staff, normal logic points to a tough season.  But with every team having turnover with the Transfer Portal, and with them being able to bring in players via transfer, we can’t rule them out. Will they win the East Division?  No.  But I think a bowl game is within reach.
• How did a buffalo get into West Virginia?
• This will be weird – so much uncertainty.

• Where is my E60 about an athletic Department running off a conference championship winning head coach to the last place team in the conference?
• Rebuilding going to be a rough year
• Middle of the pack.
• Lost too much to repeat as champion, but still have enough to be competitive in every game.
• I hope they recover well from the mass exodus.  Would like to see them get to a bowl, which in my opinion would be a big success considering what happened.  It’ll take something Amazon to have a winning season though.

• I think Tony Gibson was a good hire at Marshall but he was handed a plate that was less than half full.  A complete rebuild seems like an understatement and I don’t expect a lot out of Marshall in his first season there.  Marshall is expected to have a run heavy offense this season but the key to fining wins will be on the defense…good thing the new head coach’s specialty is defense.
