What are your thoughts on James Madison Football going into the 2025 season?

• Favored in East, but is it more about reputation?
• Can performance match ego.
• League champs.
• Let’s see if their HC suffers a sophomore slump.
• JMU is expected to be the top team in the SBC and they probably will be.  I expect hired hit-man Sluka to win the QB battle.  WR is a little bit of a question but they did get some nice portal players there.  O-line doesn’t have enough depth but the talent is there.  The defense has a solid core of returning players so it may be the strength of the team.  Overall the coaching is what will make this team #1 in the east.
• Best coach in the East and the favorite for the division.
• Impossible to pick against them. They’ve unlocked the magic formula to win every year no matter what changes they experience.

• Best roster, should win the east with Ga Southern and Louisiana at home. must win close games unlike some last year

• They may underperform with such a difficult schedule. They’re also the SBC’s best hope of making the CFP this year, but I see them dropping one too many games to be in serious consideration.

• Scary good. Did they retain a lot of their talent and coaches? I hope not, for our sake.

• Conference champ or bust. Too much talent to be wasted and anything less than 9-3 will be disappointing, even with the difficult schedule. Hopefully Chesney continues to grow as a coach and the depth is there to not give up big leads like they did in almost all of the 2024 losses.

• It’s JMU. They’ll be good. However, I’m not drinking the koolaid that they’ll win the SBC.
• Likely will walk the dog in the east in 2025.  There are couple teams who can possibly cause James Madison some problems, but those teams better be ready. 
• This should be the year for the dukes. Lost some good players but they should contend for the east championship again. Not getting 9 wins is a disappointment
• Overrated, but still good.  QB will be interesting.
• 11-1 and Chesney leaves if CFP appearance. Might stay if not. Anything less is a letdown unless SBC champions.

• They look solid again, and with a powerful running attack, they should be East champs.  there are traps in the East, of course, but they’ve been contenders since they got here, and I don’t see that changing.  They team I love to hate.
