This is the third part of the feedback regarding all 14 Sun Belt teams in 2025. These were anonymous thoughts from random fans of the Sun Belt, so you get a good mix of opinions.

As determined by random dot org, the third team is the Mountaineers of Appalachian State.

What are your thoughts on Appalachian State Football going into the 2025 season?

• improvement over last year.  Should finish 7-5 to 8-4. 
• They will improve over last year, but won’t overtake JMU
• Back to good
• Grumpy fans with a midtable finish
• All ways a good program.
• I think it will be a down year again (really a rebuilding season). They will come out HOT HOT HOT in 2026.
• they haven’t been this low in a while . . .

• App St had lost it’s mojo the last couple of years.  It was time for a change and picking Loggains was maybe a bit of a bold move considering his USC east offense wasn’t that earth shattering at all for most of his two seasons there.  A long time NFL position coach with limited college coaching experience seems like a gamble to me.  While at the Gamecocks Loggains leaned heavy on the run and it appears he’s going to replicate that at App St.  Look for transfer Rashod Dubinion to be the linchpin in Loggains offensive attack.  On the defensive side of the ball it’s almost a complete rebuild so I expect some early struggles there. 
• Top of pack, bowl game winner
• Another wild card with their roster turnover. I think they missed badly with the Loggains hire.
• Shouldn’t have hired a [little person].
• I think App will see a bowl this year, but I”m not sure I’m picking them to go far over .500.

• Dowell Loggains is a witness protection name, what insurance fraud ring was he involved in?
• Rebuilding. we will have a good idea of their trajectory at end of year.

• Considering 2024 record, new coach, loss of contributing players this likely be a rebuilding year.  But as always, Appalachian State will hit you in the mouth.  Not counting this group out of anything. Key question, can a new and inexperienced head coach get it going quickly

• They’ll blow the game against Boise and get dogpiled by the SBC forums.

• Lamest hire App has made so far.  App fans will be disappointed when they are middle-of-pack in the east again.
• Arrogant but will lose the east to ODU
• A great football team.
• They will struggle at times
• I think they will have to be in agony watching their most hated rival best them this season. However, it’s App. They’ll find a way to win games they shouldn’t. Class of the SBC.

• Unknown. Questions. So much turnover. Hopefully they got their guy and made the right choice. Think year 1 is going to be tough, but hopefully they find a few reasons to believe.
• Not sure about their HC hire.  I’ll bet a lot of Mountaineer fans feel the same.

• Pittsburgh and VCU colors are not a good look on anyone. The retro logo is dope though.
• This is the year we find out if tradition truly never graduates. So many unknowns with this team, but I think the fans’ demand for success and the players belief in the superiority of their program will have them winning again very soon.

• Some exciting transfers came in from big teams, but P4 to G6 transfers don’t happen for no reason. Usually skill or attitude problems are included.
• Going to be tough to replace Aguilar but they will, 8 wins
• App State is gonna App State.  They’ll be good again.  I don’t think they’ll be amazing though.
