What are your thoughts on South Alabama Football going into the 2025 season?

  • More of the same.
  • Speaking of underperforming expectations, I expect the Jags to repeat as Underperformers in chief.
  • Tough team but will fall short in several close games
  • Losing QB Gio Lopez will, I believe, be detrimental.
  • Tough losing qb but still should be solid, compete for west division
  • I don’t think about the mat all.
  • Lost too much to portal
  • Never know what’s showing up. Got more personalities than my ex.
  • Not sure what to expect without Lopez and Bothwell
  • Under achiever’s
  • Will fight to be .500 and make a bowl game
  • Dark horse
  • Good football team
  • I think it’s going to be a rough, rough step back for the Jags in 2025. At least I hope so anyway.
  • 8-4 ceiling, 4-8 floor
  • Probably a bowl
  • I predicted third in SBC-west.  Pretty tough schedule.  I see 6-6 or 7-5 in their future.
  • Losing their QB will have a big performance impact.
  • Better than people are predicting.  Applewhite wins coach of the year
  • Voluntarily hired Major Applewhite, lmao
  • Lower tier.
  • Going to be tough to replace their, qb 6 wins
  • Could be a legit dark horse
  • Better than most think. Still not great.
  • Loosing Lopez at QB will hurt but if they do replace him watch out because USA’s offense is loaded with a great supporting cast.  RB and WR groups are looking great so I expect USA to put up a lot of points this season.  The top defensive unit looks like the LB so some improvement will be needed on that side of the ball to expect to compete for the west.
  • “Quarterback gone, will struggle to become bowl eligible”
  • If they have a QB they can compete.
  • I’m not worried about the west.
  • Portal hurt them late and will probably cause them to lose a couple more games than I would have predicted. Could still be a fun offense to watch from a schematics perspective.
  • Average
  • Below average
  • Before losing Lopez, West contender. After, probably a middling year for them.
  • Major Applewhite is out of his depth as a head coach at any leve
  • maybe not as bad as people thinking losing a QB that lost at stAte
  • They will go to and win another bowl game n 2025.
  • Lots of talent
  • Gio Lopez was a loss, but the offensive system in place will keep the scoreboard busy without him, particularly with their solid OL. The defense will need to come together quickly after significant personnel losses, but they’re still bringing back more than last year.
  • They’ll probably become bowl eligible, but nothing special. I can see another 7-6 year out of them.
  • This one is hard to predict.  It is wide open.  My way to early prediction South will finish middle of the pack.
  • Nice on campus facility – hope they can play up to it
  • If Gio Lopez hadn’t transferred to North Carolina after Spring practice, I think the Jags would have been my pick to win the conference.  I still think South is a dark horse to win the conference, but I’m not sure if Major Applewhite has the QB talent to win the league this season.
  • The Jags will be a tough out.
  • Fiesty
  • Stronger on offense and defense is real tough again.
  • Meh
